Andrew Lloyd Williams reports from Dean Court
There was plenty of intent on display early doors as Cherries created the first chance of the game as Igoe sprinted down the left flank to pull back for Feeney outside the penalty area, whose shot fizzed past the post. Dagenham also fired an early warning shot after Benson fed Currie whose powerful effort flew over the crossbar. Jalal confidently held a Benson header seconds later. After a quiet spell, Feeney excited the home fans with twenty minutes gone as he twice took on and beat Daggers' loan man Currie down the right hand side. The visitors were pinned in their own half as Igoe and Feeney pressed them. When Jon Nurse sneakily picked Ryan Garry's pocket on the half hour mark, Bournemouth were grateful to Pearce and Bartley for stepping in at opportune moments.

Well-organised midfields cancelled out each other for much of the first half as the visitor's central midfielders Gain and Miller cut out their fair share of passes. The high standard of defensive midfield work meant chances were at a premium. Neither goalkeeper had a meaningful save to make before the interval.
The second half began at breakneck speed as Nurse evaded a Pearce tackle and as Jalal closed the angle, the ball was played to green on the edge of the six yard box. Danny Green's shot flashed across the Bournemouth goalmouth and was nearly headed goalwards by Miller. Bournemouth raced up the other end and Doe had to be on his toes to block Igoe's path as he entered the penalty area.
Roberts made an instinctive save as a wayward Pitman shot was diverted inadvertently goalwards by Lockward, the experienced keeper clawing the ball away down to his right. As the game opened up, Gain and Ofori-Twumasi both went close for the visitors, Alan Connell closing down well. Midway through the second half Steve Fletcher came on to make his 700th Football League appearance, using his big frame to quell the danger of a Dagenham corner. Fletcher then hacked clear as the ball looked to trickle across the goal line to Jon Nurse who was waiting at the back post. Next it it was Jason Pearce's turn to clear as Nurse looked to feed strike partner Benson.

Josh McQuoid was brought on in the last ten minutes to great effect as he forged out several chances down the right hand side. Dagenham came extremely close to scoring as the game drew to a close when Green beat Igoe and Cummings before his cross was intercepted by Jalal as Nurse looked to strike a killer blow. Pitman hit a late corner straight behind for a goal kick. In stoppage time, a better Pitman corner found the feet of Ryan Garry but the defender shot wide of the target to leave this one of the best goalless draws one is likely to witness.
Tonight's game was watched by 6,881 supporters, including 134 visiting supporters.
