The Cherries lost for the third time in 2010 as the Shots scored a late winner.  Soon after, Warren Cummings was shown a red card for retaliation.  Manager Eddie Howe was disappointed as he stated that the side cannot afford to lose any players at this crucial time, but Cummings had a ball thrown at him from the Aldershot bench as he was about to take a throw in, which resulted in him kicking the ball back at the reserve home keeper, who also saw red.

It was a typical local derby played at a frantic pace, with few openings early on.  Shwan Jalal made a good save early on before he was beaten on 21 minutes.  Marvin Morgan went on a run and although their was contact when Ryan Garry challenged, the striker certainly made the most of it, with Garry unfortunate to see a yellow card.  From the resulting free kick, Andy Sandell gave the Cherries keeper no chance with a powerful strike.

In the last 15 minutes of the half, the Cherries started to get on top with Danny Hollands coming close when he met a cross, but the ball was put out for a corner.

The second half started with the Cherries in the ascendancy with Piyman looking lively and forcing Mikhael Jamaiz-Ruiz in to a save at his near post.  The Cherries did draw level after Chris Blackburn held down Steve Fletcher in the box and Pitman coolly slotted home the spot kick to send over a thousand Bournemouth supporters in to ecstasy.

From then on, it was Bournemouth who looked as of they would be the likely victors, Pitman coming close with an effort that went just over.

The end of the game was as dramatic as the rest of the match put together.  After Jalal had made a brilliant save, his hard work was undone when Anthony Straker back helled the ball in to the net.  Sandell was lucky not to see red after a dreadful lunge on Liam Feeney. and with tensions running high, Clark Masters on the bench then decided to throw a spare ball at Cummings, which saw Cummings angrily react and spark off a huge melee. before referee Mr S Hooper dished out the red cards to complete a miserable afternoon for Bournemouth.
