Benjamin Deacon reports from Dean Court.
Bournemouth took their biggest home win of the season to date against mid-table Barnet, eventually putting three past the London club. The away team were always on the back foot and never looked like they would come away with more than a point.
Despite their domination the scores were level at half time, Brett Pitman guilty of wasting the most chances.
The Cherries started the second half as they had finished the first, moving the ball well and creating chances. Pitman once again found himself half a yard in front of the defence after a clever passing move, but couldn't get his shot on target.
As the second half neared its midpoint the home fans were wondering if it would be 'one of those days'. But those fears were quashed by fan favourite Steve Fletcher who scored his first home goal of the season season, rising to meet Liam Feeney's curling cross from wide right.
Moments later Pitman finally netted to make it 2 - 0. His persistence was an example to all young students of the game, the club's leading scorer never giving up on a long ball from the back, arriving to it just before keeper Jake Cole, rounding him and slotting it home calmly.

Pitman doubled his tally and made it three for the Cherries by placing a low and hard shot across the keeper from a difficult angle.
As if the home fans didn't have enough to be jolly about a stadium announcement late in the game put the icing on the cake: 'Would the Barnet coach driver please return to his vehicle immediatley.'
Bournemouth's patience and persistence paid off in the end and despite a severe lack of fit first team players, the Dorset side played attractive passing football and were good value for the three points. The next home game is on the 6th of March against Morecombe and I would encourage all fans to attend.
