It was a brilliant night for the Cherries as after a stunning first half display, the side saw off the challenge of Notts County, emerging deserved 2-1 winners.
Right from the kick off, the Cherries showed their intent. It took just over a minute for the Cherries to take the lead when a Rhoys Wiggins corner was met by Danny Hollands to give Bournemouth the ideal start. From the on, County were left chasing shadows as the Cherries put in their best 45 minutes of the season.

Kasper Schmeichel showed why he is so highly rated as he denied both Brett Pitman and Marvin Bartley with fine saves as the Cherries threatened again and again.
It seemed that it would only be a matter of time before a second would arrive and it duly did on 35 minutes. Pitman played in Hollands and his shot hit the ground and looped over the County keeper. Half time arrived with the Cherries 2-0 up, when in truth, it could have been far more and Bournemouth thoroughly deserved the standing ovation at the break.

County were always going to come out strongly in the second half and their quality to turn things round were plain to see. Bournemouth looked to weather the storm, but an accurate finish from Neal Bishop just five minutes in to the half changed the complexion of the game.
County pushed and pushed, but the Cherries were simply brilliant at the back, and always dangerous going forward, with Pitman unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
It was certainly tense as the seconds seemed like minutes in the closing stages, but Dean Court erupted to salute what was a fine victory.
