An 86th minute strike from Brett Pitman sealed three massive points for Bournemouth. The side dominated, but Accrington missed a late penalty before Pitman's goal.
Eddie Howe handed Anton Robinson a full debut and also named Joe Partington in a centre half role. There was a return for Mark Molesley and Alan Connell on the bench whilst Marvin Bartley passed a late fitness test to start.
In bright sunshine, it was a positive start for Bournemouth, with the visitors content to soak up the pressure. Danny Hollands came close midway through the half to giving the Cherries the lead with a spectacular overhead kick, but his effort came back off the post. Chances were far and few between, but Stanley almost shocked the home side in the closing stages of the half with Shwan Jalal making an excellent save.
Marvin Bartley succumbed to a foot injury at half time and was replaced by Mark Molesley and the second half started with Bournemouth pushing forward in search of the breakthrough. Clear cut chances though were proving hard to come by as Stanley adopted tactics to ensure there were no sustained bouts of Bournemouth possession.
It seemed that those tactics would pay major dividends as Andy Cavanagh went down under the softest of challenges from Rhoys Wiggins on 79 minutes. Procter though blasted the spot kick over the bar and that lifted the whole ground.

Brett Pitman scores the vital goal

And wheels away in delight
The goal that the Cherries so desperately needed came with four minutes left on the clock. Steve Fletcher got the ball wide to Jake Thomson who sent over a perfect cross for Brett Pitman to hook the ball home to send Dean Court in to raptures.
With the other results going the Cherries way, it was the perfect fillip to take with them now in to three tough away matches.
