Team news and live updates from Dean Court as Darren Anderton is restored to the Cherries starting XI.

Josh Walker and Steve Fletcher also come in from the side defeated at Northampton last week.

Cherries: Moss, Young, Gowling, Cooper (Cummings 78), Purches, Wilson, Anderton, Walker, McGoldrick, Hayter, Fletcher.
Subs: Stewart, Hollands, Pitman, Vokes, 27 North Stand.

Millwall: Pidgeley, Craig, Elliott, Robinson, Dunne, Harris, Byfield, Hackett, Brammer, Brighton (Hubertz ht), Shaw.
Subs: Day, Ashton, Ardley, Zebroski.

James Hayter had Cherries first chance of the match. Following a short spell of pressure the striker wrapped his foot around the ball and brushed his shot past the side netting.

Tom Brighton then shaved the bar with an effort after Byfield managed to get away down the Millwall right. Play was straight at the other end and Hayter flashed a shot wide following good work from Fletcher and McGoldrick.

Cherries took a lead out of nothing in the nineteenth minute. It was Darren Anderton who provided a rocket from outside the area with Millwall keeper Lenny Pidgeley left standing to admire the goal.

Neither side threatened too much after the opener with Cherries comfortably holding onto the lead during the first half. Nine minutes before the interval Alan Dunne ran into the penalty area but pulled his shot wide across goal.

Neil Young provided a sporting moment six minutes before the break. Millwall played on when one of their own players went to ground. When given the chance of a counter attack Young had every right to do what the visitors did, but opted to kick the ball out of play so that Marvin Elliott could receive treatment.

Chris Hackett then spurned an effort as Millwall attempted to get back on level terms before half time.

Millwall pressed to win a corner early on in the second half, but McGoldrick had the first shot in anger twisting inside the penalty before firing over the top.

McGoldrick had a better chance on fifty-five minutes. A through ball from Walker gave him a run on goal. Richard Shaw did just enough to narrow McGoldrick's angle and Pidgeley made a save.

Josh Walker was linking up well with the Cherries attack in his first start for the club. A one-two with Fletch set up a cross for McGoldrick who slid in a fraction late.

Darren Byfield almost got lucky with a ricochet when the deflection took the ball in completely the opposite direction. Neil Moss was stranded and thankfully the ball fell beyond the post.

Cherries were still doing their fair share of attacking and trying to play the game in Millwall's half. Hayter's goalbound header from Fletcher's flick was plucked from the air by Pidgeley.

David McGoldrick was proving a livewire up front and more clever play in the box set up a chance for Walker, but he was tackled before releasing the trigger.
