Towards the end of the match Neil Moss kicked the ball out of play so that Steve Fletcher could receive treatment to a shoulder injury. Shrewsbury didn't give Bournemouth the ball back and continued their attack; an approach that Sean was surprised Kevin Ratcliffe adopted.

Carl Fletcher and Warren Cummings were both injured during yesterday's 3-1 defeat at Hull, leaving Sean O'Driscoll yet more defensive difficulties. In speaking about the game he said that the forced change of personnel that has rued Bournemouth all season would always catch up with them and the Hull match was one such occasion.

Sean O'Driscoll spoke today about the 'workman like' performance yesterday. He commented on some superb individual performances, a spectacular goal and how he thought that we were the more dangerous side.

Bournemouth have played on some indifferent pitches of late away from home and Sean O'Driscoll has spoken about having to adjust the style of play to adapt in the best way possible. He thought the lads did that excellently against Scunthorpe and said it showed how they've been learning.

Not for the first time in his career, Stephen Purches was moved to central midfield with good effect. Bournemouth dominated the midfield in the first half and were the better side throughout the game and O'Driscoll explained the thinking behind the effective switch.

After defeats against Bury and Rushden, a win against Darlington was a must to maintain in the automatic promotion places. A win duly followed and Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll spoke about an 'excellent' and 'professional' performance before talking a little more on tactics in games.

Rushden and Diamonds gave themselves a six point advantage over the Cherries yesterday thanks to a win against York and it'll require a win on Tuesday plus a win in the game in hand to catch them up. The difference to the Bury game is that we are trying to catch Rushden and not vice-versa and O'Driscoll believes the mindset will be different because of this.
