Cherries assistant manager Richard O'Kelly had to suffer getting stuck in a lift, a post match fire alarm and even losing a few hairs on his head before kindly giving his thoughts of the Barnsley game to the waiting press.

The club would like to thank the press for their patience in waiting for delayed match reaction caused by the fire alarm.

When everyone was finally allowed back into the stadium assistant manager Richard O'Kelly said, "I think at the end of the day we thoroughly deserved our point tonight and possibly more with the chances we created against a very good side.

"We had a few changes and I thought we started the game really well. You could tell in the dressing room they were up for it and it showed on the pitch. The message at half time was keep doing what you're doing and we deserved our goal.

"From where Sean and I were stood we couldn't really see what happened. All we could see was the reaction of the players, especially the two nearest the ball. They both turned away as if it were a free kick so it was a bizarre goal.

"The goal was a knock-back for us, but I thought we did well after it went in and continued to create chances. The crowd was buoyant, chanted throughout the night and I think the players responded to that.

"You don't want to go on about these things, but we don't find ourselves in an easy situation and then losing Steve Fletcher in the morning was a blow. I thought at that point it was going to be one of those days and that was before I got stuck in a lift.

"I lost another few hairs combing by hair as well and then the fire alarm went off. But seriously, the players have shown great character. It's something we all know they've got and tonight we've got a result out of it."
