- Gaffer on Blackpool victory
Sean O'Driscoll has his say on the Blackpool performance and insists the whole squad will be needed over a crucial Christmas period, including newly fit Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall.
After we conceded the first goal we dominated for the rest of the game. We'd worked all week on trying to stop the crosses and they scored from their first cross so it was a poor start for us, but we bounced back and the second goal was probably one of the best we've scored.
It was a good team passing performance and I'm delighted. James is always a threat and an important member of the team whether he's scoring or not. Everyone was keen for him to get his hat-trick and it was nice of him to clinch it with a penalty having missed the last one at Doncaster.
I'm delighted all the work we put in on the training ground for this game paid off. We had some good reports from Blackpool. They beat Scunthorpe for five and should have beaten Chesterfield, who in turn are on a good run themselves. Simon [Grayson] said in his programme notes that we were one of the best passing sides in the Division and I think we showed that maybe we are the best passing side in the Division.
Callum just had cramp and it's good to see for a young kid that he's using his experience. We've got another long trip on Friday to Hartlepool and we had a ready made replacement with Stephen [Purches] on the bench.
We'll get back as soon as we can, they'll be in on Wednesday, have light training Thursday and then the long trip to Hartlepool. Eddie and Jason both came through the Christchurch game much better.
Shaun Cooper came through training ok after his twisted knee and after looking at the pitch we felt we needed a bit more legs on the bench so we opted for the same sixteen. We need them ready for the busy Christmas period, that's the crucial time because everybody in the squad will need to play a part.
