- Sean salutes young charges
Cherries have come through two touch games in three days with four points thanks largely to the excellent performances of players coming into the squad for the first time.
Gowling and Cooke have made full debuts in the last week whilst Cooper, Hart and Pitman have made a first appearance of any kind in a Cherries first team. Gareth Stewart has also impressed, conceding just one goal in five hours between the sticks.
Here is what Sean had to say following the 0-0 draw against Walsall:
I thought we were excellent; a different class. It was a hot day and there were a few tired legs out there after the long trip to Bradford. We created chances and on another day would have scored. You can't fault the quality of our play or the attitude and determination.I didn't think the sending off changed the game. They came here to defend and that was our problem. It was the same problem we gave Bradford on Saturday and I thought we coped with it really well. Walsall were determined not to get beaten after their hiding against Swansea so credit to the way they defended today.
It was difficult up there without Fletch. People moan when he plays, but we lose an option without him and we had to move the ball and that takes a lot of bravery. You can't fault the lads for what they've tried to do. I've got no complaints about the result and am delighted with the performance.
Neil Young has been tremendous. He's played left back, right back and now in the centre. Josh has also come in and done extremely well as has Callum Hart and Shaun Cooper back there. All the young lads have come in, taken the bull by the horns and taken on the mantle really well. Shaun Maher is still struggling with his heel, but was on the bench in case we needed him and he could have done ten or twenty minutes.
