Comments from boss Sean O'Driscoll and scorer Dani Rodrigues.

Sean O'Driscoll:
We had the better chances. John Spicer had a great chance and Shaun Maher has had one excellently saved. I thought we deserved to win, but they are one of the sides that will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. It's going to be a long season and we need to keep this going. There are going to be difficult times on and off the field, but this has been a good start for us. We're a flexible squad, but the theory is, apart from James O'Connor who is doing a sterling job at left back, to play people in positions they are comfortable with.

He's (Rodrigues) battled away and he wants to do well. Sometimes he needs to relax a little and we've all been there. He wants to impress and I was chuffed that he got his goal. It'll give him a lot of confidence and hopefully he can take that on. Steve (Fletcher) had hurt his back. He came in for training and was struggling so it was an early decision to leave him out. Hopefully he'll be a lot nearer fitness on Saturday if not fully fit. He may play some part, but we have to be careful with backs.

Dani Rodrigues:
I couldn't be feeling better at the moment. It's been a long time since I've started a game or scored a goal; I feel great and think the whole team worked really hard. Hartlepool were very strong at the back, especially in the air. Nelson is really tough to play against, but when they are strong they are not always quick so that's what Hayts and I tried to work on. We created scoring chances and I feel a couple of the off-sides were wrong and we were too quick for them.

For the goal it was a good ball from Spicer. I don't how how he found me, but I got a good first touch and sometimes that is half of the goal. I saw the keeper touch the ball and thought I was going to miss and it was an explosion of emotions when I saw the ball go in. I ran to the fans and just wanted to celebrate with them. I've scored my first one now and hope to keep going. There is a very important match against Bristol City on Saturday and Hayts and I are both very hungry to keep scoring.
