A crescendo of boos went up as the fourth official signalled three minutes of stoppage time and Cherries manager Sean O'Driscoll also had his say on the call.

Sean said, "It shouldn't be, but the talking point is where the referee got three minutes from. There was more time wasting when Sheffield Wednesday had the ball in the first half and he put a minute up. There was no time wasting in the second half and two subs which were quick because they wanted to get their two strikers on."

When directed to Paul Sturrock's quote that three minutes is almost a standard at the end of games Sean replied, "I've got no problem with that. If it's a standard it's a standard, but then we should be told that."

"If he's just picking a figure from the top of his head then it's wrong. I'm sure he'll make some excuse saying there was this or there was that, but there is no excuse. If they hold their hands up and say maybe they got it wrong it's fine, I've got no problem with that. But they won't do that, which is the annoying thing."

Talking about the goal itself Sean said, "Brunt has a great delivery and they've thrown someone in the box who hasn't come up so there is no designated marker and the keeper has also come up."

"The ball has come off his shoulder and the ball has looped into the net so that is the frustration. If that goal has made it 2-1
[To Bournemouth] would people have been talking about it? I would, but probably nobody else and there could have been major problems had it been a winner."
