Second half goals from former youth team players Karl Broadhurst and James Hayter brought back a deficit to secure an eighth home win; the best home record for thirty-one seasons. It was a game of two halves and O'Driscoll explained the reasons behind the fantastic second half turn around.

Sean O'DriscollIt doesn't seem that long ago when Broadhurst made his debut in the league cup against Charlton, a game in which Cherries kept a clean sheet. One hundred and one appearances later though, he's managed to keep out of the limelight and get on with a professional job. O'Driscoll said, "He's a match winner in his own way. I don't know what the stats are, but he's been on most of the winning sides. He has such a tenacious spirit and determination and is one of those un-sung heroes."

"I was also pleased for James scoring because he was outstanding. He's been playing excellently and wants to play up front, but at the end of the day he's going to have to be judged on his goals. His all round play was excellent though and I am delighted that he did score."

Scunthorpe held the lead at half time and O'Driscoll explained what went wrong in the first half before expressing his delight at the second. He said, "We've always been at our best when we get the ball forward and take a chance and I felt they didn't do that in the first half. Any team would be hard to beat on this pitch and in this stadium if they get a hold of the ball, but we got at them in the second half and deserved to take something from the game."

"They came in at half time and I said to them that they looked like a team scared to get beaten. We tried to take the fear out of the situation and told them to give it everything they had as they were playing with a little apprehension, which really isn't like them. They were fantastic in the second half and regardless of the result, the spirit was fantastic."

The Ballad of Wade Elliott sold out in the Scorestore in a matter of hours. Chairman Peter Phillips has said that there are plenty more on the way and true to the tune, the match sponsors agreed that Wade had been brilliant in giving him the man of the match award. O'Driscoll agreed and said, "We told Wade that Dawson had been booked and to put some pressure on him and he crossed the ball the first two times he had it in the second half from around thirty yards out."

"We told him just to go at him because he'd been booked, but he was excellent. Wade kick-started the game for us in the second half, brought the crowd to life, plays front foot and you couldn't fault the second half performance."
