Sean O'Driscoll praised his defence including Liam Ridgewell following the 0-0 draw at Leyton Orient in what was only the third clean sheet of the season and first since August in an away victory at Macclesfield. He also spoke about how deceptive the league position was for Orient and compared that to a run that Bournemouth encountered last season.

Sean O'DriscollO'Driscoll said, "We're a bit disappointed that we didn't score as we had what were probably the two best chances in the second half. We're pleased to keep a clean sheet as we don't keep enough and it's one of our downfalls."

"We'd worked all week on the Lincoln game and we were still in that mode really where we got the ball to get it forward in a certain way. Lincoln's back four push in and you can do it whereas Orient's back four didn't. There was no space to get the ball behind so we had to try and play a little bit."

The options are slowly returning for O'Driscoll and he moved Steve Fletcher up front to support him. This only lasted a few minutes before Connell had to be directly replaced by Hayter, but Sean is pleased that he has the option of changing the tactics. He said, "We brought Steve Fletcher on and this gave us a different option, which is nice to have."

"It's good to be able to chop and change things as teams like Leyton Orient cause different problems. We knew this would be a difficult place to come and it proved that. Orient's bad form hasn't been because of bad form and we've been through that ourselves. I'm pleased with our game, but I still think it can get better."

Orient are struggling at the wrong end of the Third Division at the moment, but O'Driscoll was under no illusions about the task his team had to face at Brisbane Road. He added, "Every report we've had from Orient said what a good side they were and that was despite them losing all three games and we knew it would be difficult. Liam had a tremendous debut and there aren't many left sided central defenders who can play the ball. He has a bright future ahead of him at Villa."
