Sean O'Driscoll went out of his way to commend the tactics adopted by Darlington manager Tommy Taylor following the 2-2 draw at Feethams. He wasn't the only one to tinker with the system though as O'Driscoll moved to a 4-4-3 at 1-1 in the second half and after the game insisted that settling for a point just wasn't an issue, hence the attacking manoeuvre.

Sean O'Driscoll Sean O'Driscoll stated after the game that the team were looking for more than just a point and recent performances have shown that it could have been more. O'Driscoll said, "We came here to try and win the game. They've lost their last two games, although they were really unfortunate against York. If we play to our potential or anything like we've played the last two games then we should go to places like Darlington and get all three points."

That aside, Neil Moss was the busier of the two keepers and Sean praised him for keeping Bournemouth at level terms by the interval. O'Driscoll added, "He was excellent, and if it wasn't for him we would have gone in at half time down. Their three strikers have caused us problems, and took us till late in the game to come to terms with it. We seemed to finish the game well with an extra midfield player, sacrificing a wide one. We've tried to be positive by putting two attacking players on the flanks, but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It was unfortunate for Wade and Danny who worked really hard, but it was one of those games."

Darlington played a slightly different formation than they had been in previous games and O'Driscoll was impressed with the changes made from their point of view. He said, "I think they've been playing with two wingers and two wide men, but they've obviously stiffened the midfield by bringing in Ashley Nicholls and Graham Fenton, who has floated between midfield and the third striker's spot. Credit needs to go to Tommy though, he did his homework. They caused us more problems than the three teams we've just played. Like everything else in this league, everyone can beat anyone else."

Mid-way through the second half, it was O'Driscoll's turn to try something different. Hayter and Stock came on to make for a more attacking 4-3-3 formation and O'Driscoll explained that settling for a point wasn't an option. He said, "We wanted to win. We said to the players, without being arrogant, that there is an expectation on us now to come to places like this and get three points, and you've got to match that with what you do on the pitch."

"We really didn't want to settle with a point, or no points, we wanted to go out and win it and credit to them, the three boys that came on did really well and changed it for us. It was a long way to come, we felt we prepared as well as we can, and there is an air of disappointment in there. They are not really backslapping, because we believe we can do better than that."
