Eddie Howe watched the reserves record a 1-0 win over Southampton yesterday, and was pleased with what he saw and was also impressed by the two trialists who came in from Watford.
Eddie said after the game, "I thought they played well and it was a good goal to win the game. It was very good play by Jeff Goulding to set it up who made a great run and it was a good finish by Alan. It was good for Alan and Jeff to get 90 minutes and there fitness is still at a good level. We will need them between now and the end of the season and competition is something we need in all areas of the pitch and Brett and Fletch know they are breathing down their necks.
It was good to see the two lads from Watford who both did well, but it's still a case of watching and seeing when we are allowed to do something. You have in mind players who you think could do a job and both those players fall in to that category. We've seen them in training so it was good to see them in a game. Both lads are looking for a club, so if they find one, then that's great for them because I don't expect anyone to Wait for us."
