Bond Takes Positives - Plenty to take into Swindon encounter

Cherries travel to Swindon this Saturday on the back of a home performance that Kevin Bond believes plenty can be taken from.

Here is what Bond had to say after the Northampton draw:

"It was difficult to believe we didn't come away with three points. We had a number of chances, their keeper made some fantastic saves and we had what looked like a stonewall penalty waved away.

"It was hugely disappointing from the result point of view, but I can't have any complaints about the performance of the way the lads went about the job. We came unstuck on one occasion in the second half and they took their chance.

"Lee Bradbury held the ball up really well and won a number of headers and flicks. As hard as we pushed as a forward unit in the second half we couldn't force the ball over the line and one goal wasn't enough. Northampton stuck at it and seemed to have a man extra on the far side for their goal.

"Overall we have to take heart from the performance and I can't criticise the players in any way. It was a great battling team performance because it needed to be that. If we didn't compete, we'd have been well beaten. We stuck at it well with the injuries and battled hard.

"Russell Perrett has been immense for us until he had to come off. He hadn't missed a header and is a calming influence for us. It was a bad day from an injury point of view and we're going to sorely miss the players for the time they are out."
