Bond Examines Home Form
Bond Examines Home Form - Gaffer looking for improvement in Cup.
Here's what Kevin Bond had to say after Saturday's Port Vale defeat.
"I think sometimes the shape of our side almost suits us being away rather than home. We're expected to go to Donny and be under pressure and soak up the pressure while defending well. In the two games we've had at home we haven't been able to impose ourselves, to get in peoples faces and wrestle control.
"We did that for twenty minutes in the second half. Where we got up a head of steam, but that was about it. We need to have a look at the personnel and the system and do something about it.
"Saying all that we've had three fantastic chances during the course of the game. It was an important game for us on the back of last week and it's hugely disappointing to get beaten. We need to look at how we're going to go about things and how we're setting up as we're handing the initiative to opponents far too easily.
"I thought we were the better team for around twenty minutes in the second half were we gained control of the game. We huffed and puffed for around twenty minutes in the second half when we put Sam Vokes on, but we need to be able to boss the game a lot more than we have been doing."
