'We'll do what we can to create different options'

Kevin Bond once again lamented his side's lack of prowess up front although was pleased with his team's defensive work and general display against Huddersfield at the weekend.

He said one mistake cost Bournemouth the game, but shouldn't be in a position where a lapse would prove so costly.

Kevin said, "I thought we were the better side and played some good football. We'd had a warning with Beckett before he scored the goal. He takes up great positions and is a real threat in the air.

"Josh has been fantastic in the first two games and it's sometimes these things that let him down. He knows he never picked Beckett up and he was totally unmarked for the goal.

"All of a sudden we've given them something to hang onto. They didn't need to come out or look to play after that and in the end we didn't have enough to break them down.

"We changed things in the second half trying to liven it up, but when you give people goals it becomes extremely difficult. Huddersfield defended well in the second half and we didn't hurt them enough. Sam Vokes came on and did ok for us and held the ball up, but we were lacking a cutting edge.

"You're always one mistake away from losing a game when you're not scoring many. We have to be solid if we can as one lapse of concentration cost us a goal.

"We can't get in a situation where one goal will be too much for us. We know that, but we've got to try and address it and develop some different options from an attacking point of view."
