Bond On Weymouth Defeat
Gaffer has his say on friendly loss
Cherries Manager Kevin Bond has expressed his thoughts as Cherries were beaten 3-0 by Weymouth last night in a pre-season friendly.
Bond told the Daily Echo, "In terms of competitiveness it's still early days and it showed. They were a yard faster than us and forced us into mistakes which brought about our downfall.
"We're not as match sharp as I'd like and we're missing players, but you can't take anything away from Weymouth. They were ready and up for it, but I'm trying to get my squad ready for August 11th.
"We can't field anything like what I'd call a first team at the moment, but we got through the game injury free and we'll sharpen things up in the coming days.
"We haven't got any units in terms of a back four or midfield so it's difficult to work on anything. We'll have to be a bit more patient and, with three and a half weeks to go, we've got plenty of time to do what we need to do."
