The Junior Cherries is an exclusive youth membership club at AFC Bournemouth. Since a re-launch twelve months ago membership numbers have nearly doubled.

The membership gives kids the chance to watch professional football at heavily discounted prices and the ticket sales for the forthcoming England International shows that the demand is there. The Junior Cherries can bring kids from the local community into their local football team while keeping it extremely affordable.

As well as the opportunity for children to experience live football, the Junior Cherries offers much more. The organisation has secured a sponsorship with Splashdown, they run coaches to away matches and run social events throughout the year including the very popular Christmas Party.

Junior Cherries co-ordinator Debbie Harris commented, "The Football Club with support from the players and staff have enabled kids from birth to sixteen years to really connect with what AFC Bournemouth is all about - The Community."

"They have their own branded items from their new joining packs and this helps them feel part of something special. The kids they meet at the events we have throughout the year enable friendships to be made and relationships strengthened."

The Junior Cherries has worked with schools to broaden the message about the benefits of becoming involved. New links with the wider community offer a fantastic opportunity to get the message out about what the Football Club has to offer the Town's young people.

Debbie believes the Junior Cherries gives the chance for children to feel genuinely involved with their local team. She added, "The Junior Cherries brings a sense of togetherness that is rarely matched elsewhere and the chance to have fun supporting your local team."
