Ankle Sprain & Fibula Fracture For Gaz - Gareth Stewart - Injury Update
X-Rays on Gareth Stewart's injury have revealed a sprained ankle and an avulsion fracture at the tip of his fibula.
Stewart sustained the injury landing awkwardly while catching a high ball in Saturday's 2-0 home win over Hartlepool United.
The keeper is currently on crutches and in an aircast boot. He'll undergo an MRI scan this week to determine the full extent of any damage and timeframe on the injury and the extent of any ligament damage.
The scan will take place once the swelling around his ankle has sufficiently come down and the results of the scan will dictate how long Stewart will be out of action for.
Stewart remains confident that his season isn't over. But with the club's only other professional keeper Neil Moss out with a broken wrist, it leaves second year youth team player Ryan Pryce as first choice.
