Midfielder injured in Pompey friendly
Cherries new recruit Marvin Bartley was taken off the field towards the end of the first half. The midfielder won the ball in a strong challenge and caught the boot of Herman Hreidarsson on his wrist.
Manager Kevin Bond said, "We're not sure at this stage. We think he might have fractured a wrist. He's gone for a scan and will assess the situation from there."
Cherries physio Steve Hard added, "He's injured his scaphoid (wrist bone structure) which is the worst bone in the wrist to break. He's going to be in a cast for ten days and hopefully he's just sustained some heavy bruising. It is something he could play with after a short time with a cast on."
