Mudeford Juniors representing AFC Bournemouth beat Port Vale FC at Wembley Stadium to win the Football League Community Cup.

The team and Head of Community Steve Cuss travelled to London on the Saturday staying overnight to prepare for the game, on Saturday evening the team went bowling to relax before the big day.

Match day saw all the players and teachers enjoyed a pre-match stadium tour beginning at Wembley Way, walking out through the tunnel, going pitch side, visiting the press rooms and seeing the changing rooms and all the preparations that go into hosting a sporting event.

The game was very entertaining between two very good sides, Port Vale got off to the better start but gradually AFC Bournemouth got into the game and were creating some good opportunities with the quality of passing shining through. The game appeared to be heading for a draw until a superb passing move saw captain Connor York set up Callum Baughan who calmly finished to win the Community Cup for AFC Bournemouth.

The players who were joined by a large number of travelling family and friends deservedly celebrated an outstanding achievement.

Steve Cuss explained "The competition started back in September with each Community Scheme organising local competitions before progressing onto Regional Finals, over 14,000 youngsters have taken part in the competition and for Mudeford to come out on top is a magnificent achievement for Teacher/Coach Mr Goodlet and all the players", Steve continued by adding how professional the boys were, "Throughout the whole Wembley weekend the players have conducted themselves in a very mature manner and were an outstanding credit to their parents and Mudeford Junior School, we at AFC Bournemouth are all very proud of their achievement".
