COMMUNITY CUP

The first part of the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust 6-a-side competition took place at the Littledown Centre with 17 schools taking part, the teams were split into four leagues, they competed against each other on a round robin basis with the top two teams qualifying for the quarter finals.

Broadstone Middle v Christchurch Juniors


The quarter finals saw Epiphany beat Pokesdown, a penalty shoot out was needed for Cranborne Middle to win against St Michaels. A 2-0 win for Lychett Matravers against Christchurch Juniors was followed by Mudeford defeating Broadstone Middle 1-0.

Both semi-finals were great games with Cranborne Middle and Mudeford Juniors progressing through to the final.

The final was as evenly contested game with Mudeford claiming the prize with a 2-0 victory.

Mudeford will now play the winners of next weeks competition in the grand final to see which school will represent AFC Bournemouth in the League 2 Southern Final at Barnet FC on the 20th April.

Head of Community, Steve Cuss said "The standard of the competition was very high with the games played in a very good spirit. Mudeford Juniors were worthy winners and now progress onto the AFC Bournemouth grand final".
