GIRLS UNDER 13 COMMUNITY FINAL

AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust hosted the regional final of the Girls Under 13's Community Cup.

Seven clubs took part in the tournament Swindon Town, Reading, Aldershot, Southampton, Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and representing AFC Bournemouth were Glenmoor School who had beaten 25 other teams in winning the local competition.

The group stages saw each team play each other with some outstanding matches, the top four teams progressed through to the semi-finals.

The fifth, sixth and seventh placed teams Wycombe Wanderers, AFC Bournemouth and Southampton.

The semi-finals were great matches with Reading beating Swindon 1-0 and Brentford beating Aldershot 2-0.

Losing semi-finalists Swindon Town and Aldershot.

The final lived up to it's billing with an outstanding match which was settled by a Reading strike in the first minute of the second half for Reading to be crowned Girls Community Cup Champions.

Reading will now compete in the Southern Final to determine who plays the Northern winners at Wembley prior to the Johnstones Paint Trophy Final.

Head of Community, Steve Cuss said "We were delighted to be chosen to host the regional final of the Girls Under 13's Community Cup, the tournament was of a very high standard played in a tremendous spirit, congratulations to all the teams who took part".
