AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust are looking forward to launching a new initiative, Veteran Cherries.

Working in partnership with Dorset NHS, Royal British Legion, Pilgrim Bandits, Bournemouth War Memorial Home and SSAFA, the Veteran Cherries programme will look to offer the opportunity for ex-service personnel of all ages to engage within different practical activities, provide qualifications and volunteering opportunities, alongside supporting integration back into civilian life.

Regular activities will be planned over a 12-month period, with monthly meetings taking place at Vitality Stadium, home of AFC Bournemouth.

To launch the programme, the Community Sports Trust will be hosting an introduction session on Sunday 15th April.

The introduction session, is open to all veterans and their families to come to the Stadium, meet the staff and discuss what they would like to see from the project. A stadium tour will be available, and some practical family games will also be included.

If you are interested in attending the Veteran Cherries Introduction session, or would like further information please contact Disability Inclusion Officer Hannah Powis on 07393462166 or [email protected]

Alternatively, you can contact Head of Community Steve Cuss on 07973893594 or [email protected]
