Official FPL: One week to go

With a double gameweek and just one more round to impress following its completion, the latest round of Fantasy Premier League was always going to be one to look out for.

The Cherries themselves recorded three points after a 1-0 win over Swansea City last Saturday, but that was their action done for another week.

Yet, several users in the fan league still had their eyes on a number of fixtures, with 12 teams to play again during the week.

But, how did they all get on and who is in prime position to finish in first place?

Going into the final gameweek of the season, Daniel Brett tops the AFC Bournemouth fan league after a score of 79 points in the penultimate round.

A triple captain played on Harry Kane was a wise move, as the forward bagged 24 points up top.

However, the bulk of Daniel’s points actually came from the back, with David De Gea scoring nine in goal and fellow United teammate Antonio Valencia finishing with six.

Yet, it was Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso who came up trumps for ‘Real Bournemouth’ this week, bagging 15 points for his clean sheet and goal across the Blues’ two fixtures.

Hot on Daniel’s heels was Neil Methold, who has made a late surge up the table. He sits on 2,342 points, just nine behind top spot, after a gameweek score of 97.

Again, De Gea and Alonso were popular choices, with Chris Smalling and Lewis Dunk bagging a combined total of 17 points for their efforts and recent clean sheets.

In midfield, Leroy Sane stole the show with 17 points, whilst Heung-Min Son’s assist against Newcastle saw him pick up seven.

Up top, Kane’s goal saw him finish on eight points, with Gabriel Jesus as captain adding eight to Neil’s tally.

Nevertheless, the highest scorer in the Cherries fan league over the double gameweek was Gary Cole, who ended on 155 points.

A well used bench boost saw the four players rested score 40 points between them, whilst those in his starting XI didn’t disappoint either.

The key to Gary’s week, however, lay in captaining Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose assist and three goals across the double gameweek saw him awarded 46 points alone.

He wasn’t the only individual that scored double figures, with Fernandinho picking up 12 from midfield.

However, despite the best efforts of Gary and the thousands of other users in the Cherries fan league, no-one could top England cricketer Stuart Broad’s 180 points in gameweek 38.

The Nottinghamshire bowler scored more than any other player across the game, after a remarkable week in Fantasy Premier League.
