AFC Bournemouth had a host of players in weekend action, with two on the scoresheet.
It was a good weekend for Benik Afobe and Wolves, who gained promotion to the Premier League, whilst Lewis Grabban netted the winner for Aston Villa.
Here's a closer look at how the Cherries on loan fared.
Benik Afobe
Afobe’s Wolves gained promotion to the Premier League on Saturday, despite not kicking a ball. Fulham’s draw with Brentford on Saturday meant that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were far enough ahead of third place to secure their spot in English football’s top flight next season.
However, when they did take to the field on Sunday, the weekend continued as it had started with a 2-0 win over fellow midlands outfit Birmingham.
Once again, Afobe was on target, with an 87th minute chip to secure the three points, following an opener from Matt Doherty to give Wolves the lead earlier on. The side are now just one point away from the Championship title and Afobe has scored five goals in five starts since his loan move to Molineux.
Lewis Grabban
Fellow striker Grabban scored the only goal of the game, as Aston Villa secured a 1-0 win over Leeds United on Friday evening.
A powerful header 29 minutes in was welcomed at Villa Park, with Steve Bruce’s side now guaranteed a place in the Championship play-offs and with every chance of promotion to the Premier League.
Connor Mahoney
Mahoney played the final four minutes of Barnsley’s 2-2 draw with Bolton, coming on moments after Craig Noone had seemingly won it for Wanderers, volleying home with 85 on the clock.
However, a 93rd minute leveller from Oli McBurnie ensured that the hosts went home with a point for their efforts in the crucial Championship tie.
Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale’s Chesterfield side faced a promotion-chasing Mansfield at the Proact Stadium on Saturday, but they couldn’t get the three points to fire them up League Two as the visitors ran out 1-0 winners.
A Mal Benning goal was the difference, with Chesterfield next in action against Exeter in Tuesday.
Ryan Allsop
Following his Wembley win last week, Allsop was on the end of a narrow 1-0 defeat, as Lincoln lost to Port Vale in League Two.
The Imps remain level on points with Mansfield in the play-offs, but do have two games in hand before the end of the season.
Ben Whitfield
On the opposing side to Allsop was Whitfield, who came off the bench after 58 minutes to help his side gain the three points, Anthony Kay scoring just five minutes after the 22-year-old’s introduction.
Vale are now nine points from the drop, with three games to play.
Sam Matthews
Matthews played the final half an hour for Eastleigh, as they lost 2-0 to Gateshead away from home.
Shaun Hobson
Hobson was also in National League action, but Chester lost 4-2 to high-flying Boreham Wood.
Will Dennis
Dennis also got 90 minutes for Weymouth, who continued their push for promotion with a 1-1 draw against Banbury.
Patrick O’Flaherty
Fellow ‘keeper O’Flaherty, who is on loan at Gosport Borough, was on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat away at Chesham United.
Elsewhere
Max Gradel’s Toulouse saw their game postponed, whilst Baily Cargill and Partick Thistle also had a weekend off.
In the National League, both Joe Quigley and Ollie Harfield were both unused substitutes in Boreham Wood’s 4-2 win over Chester.
Additionally, Sam Surridge missed Yeovil’s 1-0 defeat to Wycombe.
