Rewind: AFC Bournemouth 2-0 Sunderland

Posted: Fri 22 Jan 2016

AFC Bournemouth travel to the Stadium of Light for their second game against Sunderland this season and the first was a significant day in the Cherries' season.

Back in September, Eddie Howe’s men earned their first ever win at home in the Premier League against the Black Cats, and the 2-0 win was secured with a pair of goals after just ten minutes.

Callum Wilson gave the Cherries the lead three minutes in, as he spun his man on the edge of the box and fired home past Costel Pantillimon.

Six minutes later, Matt Ritchie scored one of the goals of the season as he took a loose ball onto his chest and hammered in a volley from 30-yards.

It was an unforgettable day for the Cherries and supporters will be hoping the long trip on Saturday can provide another moment like that back in September.
