Preview: AFC Bournemouth take on Everton with memories of Barclays Premier League clash

Posted: Fri 19 Feb 2016

Who can forget the last time the Cherries met Everton?

An emphatic 98th minute equaliser from Junior Stanislas sent Vitality stadium into raptures just moments after Ross Barkley looked to have salvaged all three points for the Toffees.
There was a very subdued atmosphere at half-time as the visitors found themselves 2-0 up thanks to a Ramiro Funes Mori header and Romelu Lukaku’s 12th goal of the season.

With the five minutes of stoppage time up, it looked to be all over for the Cherries. However, one last attack saw Charlie Daniels clip a cross in from the left which was met by Stanislas who fired a powerful header past Tim Howard for his second of the match.

Howe described the moment as 'one of the biggest highs' he’s had in football, going on to praise the excellent character shown by his players.

With three defeats and now a draw against the Toffees in the club’s history, Howe’s men will be hoping to go one step further when the two teams meet in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup clash.
