Injury news: Elphick to play against Portsmouth, Stanislas on the mend

Posted: Fri 29 Jan 2016

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that Tommy Elphick will return from injury against Portsmouth.

Howe also revealed that Junior Stanislas' knee injury he sustained against Sunderland is not as bad as first feared.

"We're so pleased that Tommy is back," Howe said.

"He's a really key figure at this club. Off the pitch he's been positive despite the length of the injury and he's our leader in the dressing room.

"Junior on the other hand, his injury is not as bad as expected. The scans came back positive but we'll continue to assess him.

"I think we feared the worst seeing him carried off at Sunderland, but he won't be fit for this week and next week either."
