AFC Bournemouth’s community work with Care South is set to be featured on the nation’s most iconic football programme, Match of the Day.

The partnerships ambassador Marc Pugh, chairman Jeff Mostyn and head of AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss joined residents at Care South’s Elizabeth House in Parkstone as the BBC One programme filmed.

The upcoming feature, which will play out on Sunday 28th February, is set to detail the unique partnership between Care South and AFC Bournemouth.

This on-going commitment from the Cherries allows residents, home care service users and staff to get involved in a variety of activities including meeting players, coffee mornings, walking football and visits to Vitality Stadium.

“Having Match of the Day feature the partnership has been a perfect opportunity to showcase the power of the game and its ability to inspire local people of all ages,” commented Cuss.

“We had a wonderful afternoon at Elizabeth House celebrating another successful session with Care South residents.

“Partnering with them has been a great way of encouraging the residents to keep active, whether it’s getting involved in a game of walking football or playing football from their armchair.

“These special activity sessions provide plenty of opportunities for residents to maintain their fitness at their own pace.”

Supporters can tune in to watch BBC One’s Match of the Day on Sunday 28 February at 07:35.
