The competition gave one supporter the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime VIP experience for the home game against Swansea City.
Over 100 others also won prizes thanks to the competition’s unique tiered donation system, these included: a campaign t-shirt, a ‘thank you’ video from Eddie Howe and even a day spent with Cherries legend Steve Fletcher.
Chairman Jeff Mostyn, who hosted the main competition winner in the Board Room for the Swansea City match, believes the funds raised will make a huge difference in the local community.
“A big thank you to everyone who supported the Raffity competition to raise funds for the Community Trust,” commented Mostyn.
“The money raised from the incredible generosity of supporters will provide support for so many worthwhile individual and group projects in our conurbation, which in some cases can be life-changing.”
David Hare was randomly drawn as the winner of the competition’s main prize, and the long-term Cherries fan joined chairman Mostyn to watch Eddie Howe’s men defeat Swansea City 3-2.
“I remember the first Cherries match I ever saw in 1966,” commented David.
“Fifty years later, a chauffeur-driven BMW pulled up outside my Winchester house to drive me to Vitality Stadium, where I was greeted and given a tour.
“Whilst looking around the training facilities and changing rooms I met Fletch, Callum Wilson, Charlie Daniels and Matt Ritchie. Whilst the charming and hospitable Jeff Mostyn wined, dined and entertained me, it was such an unforgettable experience.”
