Eddie Howe has confirmed that Dan Gosling will miss the weekend’s Premier League game against Sunderland.
The midfielder was forced from the field of play with a calf complaint during the Cherries’ recent home victory over Middlesbrough.
And the manager confirmed that both Gosling and Andrew Surman, currently sidelined with a knee injury, would both be absent from the trip to Wearside.
“We’re still without Andrew Surman and Dan Gosling doesn’t look like he’s going to make it.
“Dan was struggling with his calf and was forced off against Middlesbrough. With Andrew, he’s not at the stage where he’s ready to train.”
Gosling’s absence could pave the way for Lewis Cook to make his second Premier League start of the campaign, after he impressed from the bench against Middlesbrough.
Jack Wilshere (leg), Adam Federici and Callum Wilson (both knee) remain long-term absentees and will not feature again this season.
