Speaking after the Cherries earned a hard fought point against the unbeaten Tottenham Hotspur, Howe was delighted with his team's intesity and also feels that the result shows how much his side have evolved from last year's maiden Premier League campaign.

"I'm very pleased - there were no goals but it was a very good game," he explained.

"From my view it was a high intensity and high quality clash with two teams really going at it, it was great to watch.

"I'm proud of the players, more proud this week than last week.

"Last year's games against Spurs were tough games and key for our development. We're still a work in progress but I think it shows a real evolution of the team.

"The future is bright."

Howe was also full of praise for the work ethic and physicality his side showed against Mauricio Pochettino's men, amongst them Jack Wilshere who completed his first 90 minutes in a Cherries shirt.

When asked about the Arsenal loanee, Howe was pleased to reward his performance with the 90 minutes and feels there is still more to come from the England international.

"Our gameplan was to disrupt their rhythm and their normal way of playing," he continued.

"The players delivered an incredible physical performance with a real work rate, desire and endeavour - which are words we always talk about.

"Jack was excellent today, first and foremost defensively where he supported Callum Wilson with some unseen work, winning second balls and doing the niggly things well.

"With the ball he gained more influence as the game went on, his performance warranted the 90 minutes and his performances are improving, he will only get better."
