Daniels: It’s up to us to spoil the party against West Ham on Sunday

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The Hammers won't be the only people enjoying a homecoming on the weekend, as London Stadium prepares to host its first Premier League game.

Walthamstow-born Daniels is excited about the prospect of returning to London but admits that it will not alter the way he approaches the fixture.

“It’ll be very special for me,” admitted Daniels.

“A lot of my friends and family are coming to the game – some of which are West Ham fans and I know they are looking forward to the whole atmosphere and spectacle.

“For us, though, it’s about going to spoil the party. We always play without any pressure, that’s the way we have worked since the manager came in.

“We play our own way, no matter what else is going on. It doesn’t matter if we are in League One or the Premier League, we have the same philosophy and approach games in the same way.”

Having suffered opening day defeat to Manchester United, Daniels now insists that the squad are looking to bounce back straight away on Sunday.

And the 29-year-old believes that the Cherries camp are in the mindset to do just that.

“We were disappointed to lose against Manchester United," continued Daniels.

“As a whole we played quite well up until the first goal. We had the better of the play but we know that it’s all about fine margins in this league.

“The goals we conceded were unlike us but you have to put that to bed very quickly and move on, which we have.

“Everyone will say it, but the dress room here is unbelievable. It’s the best I’ve ever been in and everyone is positive and focussed now on putting in a performance and getting some points on the board.”

Both Eddie Howe and Charlie Daniels' full pre-West Ham press conferences are now available on Cherries Player HD.
