Community groups, sporting associations and social clubs in Bournemouth are still being invited to apply for grants as part of the Green Goals Community Fund 2012-2013.

Green Goals, an award winning project that aims to improve the area of Bournemouth through the combination of football, education and business, provides a pool of money for local organisations to use towards projects that improve the local environment.

The fund for the 2012/2013 season has been available since September, and applications can still be made for one-off grants of up to £1,000 for projects that commence before the end of April and are completed before the end of May 2013.

Cherries utility man and Green Goals ambassador Stephen Purches said, “Green Goals has already had a huge impact on numerous projects in the local area of Bournemouth and Poole, and I urge more local groups and organisations to take up the offer of funding to continue to do so further.

“I would also like to once again thank the fund’s partners - Bournemouth Borough Council, Eco Sustainable Solutions, New Earth Solutions, W&S Recycling, J&G Environmental, Castlepoint and the Green House Hotel – for providing this money which enables us to partake in these projects which make such a difference to the local area.”
