Josh McQuoid was delighted with the three points brought back from Cumbria, but insisted the side can do better.

McQuoid put in an excellent performance as the side continued the great goalscoring run.  He feels though as there is room for improvement, but that the side are showing good characteristics.

“It’s nice that we are scoring a few goals, that’s always a good thing,” McQuoid told afcb.co.uk.  “I don’t think it was our best performance by any means.  That is a good sign though that maybe we didn’t play that well, but we came out with a win.

“All the lads put 100 per cent in and it was a nice feeling at the end.  We know we can play better and I think we will play better, but it’s good to get a result at a tough place like Carlisle.

“It's 10 points out of 12 and since the gaffer came in it’s been like a breath of fresh air.  We have shown that all the lads are committed to the cause.  We now have to build on this because we want to push up the table as quickly as we can.”

After the great run in the league, the Cherries’ thoughts now turn to the FA Cup against Dagenham & Redbridge next week, and McQuoid knows the importance of keeping the momentum going.

“It is important that we carry on this form, and it’s good that we have a full week to prepare for the FA Cup tie.  This week has been tough with the travelling, but all the guys in the backroom staff keep us as fit and ready as we can be.

“Mentally it’s difficult to have two trips like we have had this week, but it’s good that we have got results in both games.”

156 loyal supporters made the mammoth trip - the second of two difficult journeys in the space of four days and McQuoid echoed the sentiments of his teammates as he praised the travelling faithful.

“All the lads are buzzing for the supporters.  We know what a difficult week it has been for them, but they have turned up and got behind us.

“When you run out at a place like Carlisle and you see our supporters there, it gives a massive boost.  We are just pleased that we could repay them with a good result - it means that everyone is happy!”
