Cherries boss believes that O'Kane can give the side something different.

Cherries' boss Paul Groves hailed new signing Eunan O'Kane as one of the best midfielders in League Two.

O'Kane left Everton's youth side when he was a teenager and signed for Northern Irish side Coleraine before making the step up to Torquay.

Groves is confident in the 22-year-old's ability to continue progressing and believes he will add a new dimension to the squad.

He said, "Eunan has a lot of energy and is very good technically. He'll definitely give us something different.

"He comes here having played over 200 games for Torquay where he produced on a regular basis. He's had a good background and has managed to climb his way back up after leaving Everton."

The manager was also pleased with the midfielder's attitude and rates him very highly after impressing at the Gulls.

"He's clearly looking to progress with us and he's ambitious - that's what we want at this club," Groves added.

"We have been aware of him for quite some time and consistently he's been one of the best midfielders in League Two and we're delighted to have him here."
