The game came a week after the squad returned to pre-season training and showed that partnerships are quickly being formed as the side scored thirteen well crafted goals.
The Bournemouth manager has been pleased with the amount of progression shown so far and spoke www.afcb.co.uk after the game.
“We are looking for an understanding of how we want to play, and the players have shown in a limited amount of time that we have had to work with them that they have grasped the ideas. What was pleasing was that they finished off their work.”
“Each day has increased in terms of volume and intensity, and it was pleasing that they looked reasonably fresh and the game served the purpose in respect of giving them enough of a breather prior to the game to be able to come in fresh.”
Results in pre-season matches are not the important factor, but Paul told the Cherries website that the chances created and finished will boost confidence at this early stage.
“The result is not important in these games, but scoring that number of goals does bring about confidence. What was pleasing was the movement to bring about those opportunities and the finishing overall was quite good and they can be pleased with that.”
