Purches suffered the injury in the Cherries’ defeat to Rochdale in February and had been walking with the aid of a protective boot and crutches for the last five months.
“Seen specialist with @AFCB_Physio (physio Steve Hard) arrived home without crutches & airboot! Given the all clear to walk & get life back to normal,” he tweeted last night.
“Thanks for everyone's tweets, much appreciated. Been a tough 5 months & still a long way to go but big day today!”
Purches, who signed a new two-and-a-half year deal in January, made 30 appearances last season and scored his only goal of the campaign in the FA Cup first round tie against Gillingham at Dean Court.
