Report: Bashley FC 0-4 AFC Bournemouth - Ndjoli and O'Connell both net braces

Written by afcb.co.uk

Keelan O’Connell and Mikael Ndjoli both scored braces as the Cherries comfortably progressed against the Sydenhams Wessex Premier side.

O’Connell and Ndjoli combined for the first goal after 16 minutes, when winger O’Connell met Ndjoli’s cross from close range to help the ball into the net.

The hosts were then reduced to ten men as keeper Joe Prodomo brought Ndjoli down in the box to concede a penalty.

Ndjoli, who was lively throughout, stepped up but had his spot-kick saved well saved by substitute stopper Joe Coombes.

But Stephen Purches’ men weren’t to be denied a second as in the 68th minute, O’Connell met Ollie Harfield’s pinpoint cross in the box for the second.

Despite his earlier penalty miss, Ndjoli continued to torment the Bashley backline and won another penalty as he was fouled by Lewis Aimson.

The striker didn’t relinquish the penalty responsibility and made no mistake this time to convert the spot-kick for the third.

It was 4-0 moments after though and Ndjoli had a deserved second, as he raced through the Bashley defence, latching onto a ball over the top, to clinically finish.

The final positive for the Cherries was the return of Matt Neale, who came on for the last ten minutes following a lengthy injury absence.
