Howe: We're looking forward to West Ham and the opportunity to get our first points on the board

The Cherries make the trip to London for the first ever Premier League game at London Stadium.

However, Howe refused to admit that the pressure is solely on the Hammers to win in front of their fans.

"There is pressure on us as well from our supporters and ourselves to give our best," the manager explained.

"It's their first game in the stadium but none of that matters to us, we have to play the right way and attack as we usually do.

"That’s the Premier League, there is big hype surrounding every game, a lot of media exposure no matter who you play. There's always a different angle and it's very important that we're in the game and focused.

“We’re looking forward to the game and the opportunity to get our first points on the board.”

One of the Hammers' threats on Sunday will come in the form of Andy Carroll and his aerial ability.

Howe knows that the Cherries will have to deal with the unique striker, but is adamant that his own attackers will be a threat to Slaven Bilic’s defence.

"West Ham have a good side and have recruited plenty of attacking options," he continued.

"We’re well aware of the aerial threat of Andy Carroll alongside other good players in their team. Carroll is a threat we will try to counteract and there are many ways you can try and deal with that player to impose yourself on the game.

"He’s a unique player in this day and age - he’s a handful if we don’t deal with him right. But we have to focus on us as well as their defenders will with our strengths."
