Daniels: Important we start the game at a high tempo

Written by afcb.co.uk

Daniels, who has played every minutes of the Cherries’ Premier League campaign so far, was on the scoresheet in the recent 6-1 home victory over Hull City.

And the left-sider believes if he and his team-mates can maintain standards set in recent home fixtures his former club’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season could come to an end.

“Hopefully we can produce an exciting match,” he told afcb.co.uk

“We want to play a high tempo and a fast-attacking game, but I know Spurs will want to do that as well. Hopefully we don’t cancel each other out. It could be a bit end to end.

“I was there [Spurs] for a good number of years when I was young and I still have a lot of friends there who are on the staff. I have a whole load of family and friends that are Spurs fans too, so they’re going to come down and enjoy the game. It’ll be a special occasion for them.

“Personally, it’s about doing a job and not only for me but for the team. We want to win and break their duck.”

Daniels also talked of last season’s defeats to Mauricio Pochettino’s side and how far he believes the Cherries have come since.

He continued: “It was a big learning curve for us, especially the first game at home.”

“We thought we actually played particularly well, especially in the first half, so it was disappointing but we learnt a lot from that game as the season went on.

“We expect the same this Saturday. It’s going to be a tough game for us so we have to be very good on the ball if we want to break their press and expose their back line.”
