Afobe: It would be nice to get three points in front of our home fans this weekend

Written by afcb.co.uk

The last time the two teams met, Afobe played 60 minutes as the points were shared in a 1-1 draw, for what was the Cherries’ final home game of their maiden Premier League season.

For the 23-year-old, Saturday’s clash presents an opportunity to build upon the point secured at Crystal Palace in front of a home crowd.

"We’re looking forward to the game for sure and it’ll be nice to get the three points here in front of our home fans," the forward said.

"They’re obviously a good team and the manager there has got a good way of playing for them.

"We were disappointed to concede in the last couple of minutes against Crystal Palace and the West Ham game as well, but with ten men we held on so well.

"It just shows there’s a thin line in football and we’re not too far away. Just a few different changes and a few different things and hopefully we can start picking points up again.

"We want to give our fans a great show every week. They’re fantastic and we want to give them much more than we have in the past and hopefully this is the season where they can enjoy more here at the stadium."

The former Arsenal man also spoke of his personal targets for the season ahead and is keen to take his chance when it comes his way.

"I’ve had a good pre-season. I went away and worked hard," he continued.

"I’ve been on the bench for the first three games at the moment but it’s a long season. The manager spoke to me and I believe in everything he says and I believe in everything he does with the club.

"I’ve always been a team player in the sense of working hard for the club, for the squad and for all the boys and when I do get my chance, I’ll be looking forward to taking it."
