Goals from Callum Wilson and Yann Kermorgant helped AFC Bournemouth beat Wigan Athletic 3-1 and stay top of the Sky Bet Championship.
The Cherries took a two goal advantage into the break following finishes from the strikers three and a half minutes apart at the end of the first period.
Wilson showed great composure to put the away side ahead before Kermorgant added a second with a thunderous effort.
Approaching the hour mark, Eddie Howe’s team made it 3-0 with another clinical finish from top scorer Wilson.
His second of the afternoon appeared to have put the league leaders out of sight, only for Leon Clarke to pull one back with a scruffy back post header.
With Eunan O’Kane injured and Junior Stanislas missing through illness, the only changes to the squad from the win over Watford were on the bench.
Shaun MacDonald replaced Dan Gosling amongst the substitutes, while Tokelo Rantie returned to the 18 for the first time since late December.
Wigan looked far from lacking in confidence early on as William Kvist tested Artur Boruc and James McClean hit the bar with an ambitious free-kick by the byline.
But the Cherries soon took control as Matt Ritchie saw a powerful shot deflected behind for a corner before Ali Al Habsi produced a fantastic save to deny Kermorgant.
Their dominance was finally reward in the 37th minute as Wilson raced on to his strike partner’s flick on, dribbled almost the length of the half and kept his cool to beat the goalkeeper.
It was soon 2-0 as Kermorgant displayed his strength to knock Chris McCann off the ball and fire home from the edge of the area.
There were just under three and a half minutes between the goals which gave the Cherries a comfortable lead at the break.
Wilson appeared to have wasted a chance to put the contest beyond the Latics after the restart as he did all the hard work before blazing over the bar.
But he made no mistake as he went one-on-one moments later and netted in front of the travelling fans.
However, Wigan got themselves back into the game as McClean’s cross found Clarke and although it wasn’t the truest contact, the ball was scrambled into the back of the net.
