AFC Bournemouth’s unbeaten 14 match league run came to an end with a 2-1 home defeat to Norwich City.
The Cherries remain Sky Bet Championship league leaders despite suffering their first domestic loss since September at the hands of the Canaries.
Matt Ritchie put the home side ahead before Gary Hooper equalised ten minutes before half-time.
City midfielder Jonny Howson was then shown a straight red card but Cameron Jerome scored the winner in the final ten minutes.
With new manager Alex Neil watching on from the stands, the Norwich players were out to impress in the early exchanges.
Bradley Johnson went close with a header, while Michael Turner and Nathan Redmond will have felt they could have done better from close range efforts.
Meanwhile, the Cherries’ best chance fell to Callum Wilson, who sent a shot from distance off target.
But it was Ritchie who made the breakthrough, clinically sidefooting from Marc Pugh’s left wing cross in the 18th minute.
Pugh then had the chance to double the advantage having been played in by Brett Pitman, although his inventive volley flew over the bar.
The Canaries drew themselves level ten minutes before half-time as Hooper swept the ball home in the six yard box.
Harry Arter led the protests as the Cherries contested referee Chris Foy’s decision to let the goal stand, believing there had been a handball in the build-up.
The second half got off to an even start and there was little to separate the two teams until Howson was show a red card in the 65th minute.
The midfielder was dismissed by the referee for a dangerous challenge on substitute Yann Kermorgant, who had replaced Pitman moments earlier.
Howe’s team found their opponents full of resolves and Ritchie’s drive was as close as they came in the first 15 minutes they faced ten men.
However, it was Norwich who claimed the points with Jerome’s late winner at the Goldsands Stadium.
