The Cherries ended 2013 with a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town at the Goldsands Stadium.
The hosts dominated the first half and Town goalkeeper Dean Gerken denied Lewis Grabban, Eunan O’Kane and Simon Francis before the break.
But Daryl Murphy then converted Frank Nouble’s low cross in the 59th minute to put the in-from Tractor Boys in front.
Brett Pitman was sent on for the final 30 minutes and he found the equaliser, forcing the ball home after Andrew Surman had his strike from the edge of the area saved.
However, the Cherries, who created enough chances to win the game, may feel they deserved more, especially after having a goal disallowed with just over ten minutes remaining.
Josh Mcquoid made his first appearance of the season, replacing the suspended Harry Arter, and played a part in the Cherries’ first clear cut chance of the afternoon.
McQuoid found Grabban, who crossed for Fraser before the winger saw his shot deflect off Town captain Luke Chambers and behind for a corner.
Fraser then almost capitalised on a loose back pass from Aaron Cresswell, but guided his left footed strike wide of the mark.
The Cherries were in the ascendency and goalkeeper Gerken had to make saves from O’Kane and Francis to keep the scores level approaching the half hour mark.
Gerken then stood firm to block a close range effort from Grabban, who had been played in by a clever backheel from Surman ten minutes before half-time.
The home side started the second half on the front foot, but fell behind when Murphy tapped in Nouble’s low cross after 59 minutes.
Eddie Howe then turned to Pitman and Marc Pugh, and they were both involved as the striker scored the equaliser.
Pugh crossed the ball in his first contribution before it made its way to Surman on the edge of the area. He sent in a low effort and Pitman was on hand to smash in the rebound from inside the six yard box.
Only one side looked likely to score again and there was plenty of pressure from the Cherries in the final 15 minutes, but a sold crowd had to settle for a point.
